TranSearch®: Technical Specification

TranSearch® technical specification:

Database Requirements
Microsoft SQL server 7.0 , 2000 and 2005, Oracle 8i, 9i and 10i are supported.  If you do not have a database already we will supply SQL Express 2005.  A limiting factor will be the number of connections you require to the database and the number of records you are likely to want to hold.  We can advise you on this issue.

Database Connections
Microsoft SQL server TCP/IP or named pipes.  Oracle client files, TNS and ODBC drivers required.

Server Operating System
Microsoft Windows NT4 server with sp4, Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 server.

Workstation Operating System
MS Windows 95, 98, NT4, 2000 and XP (Vista currently in test).

Web Client Hosting Server
MS Internet Information Server 5.1, 5.5 or 6.

Required TCP/IP ports (typical for most environments)
Database:  UDP port 1434, TCP port 1433, or named piped 139/445

FTP module: TCP port 21 (ftp), TCP port 22 (sftp)
Email module: TCP port 110 (inbound) TCP port 25 (outbound)

Database Size
Will vary depending on schema and amount of data.  On average, half a million assets with accompanying movement and location records would require about 3 Gb of hard disk space.

Minimum Server Recommendations
Dual Intel Xenon 3 GHz processors
1 Gb of memory
2 x 50 Gb hard drives in a raid 1 array or 3 Gb hard drivers in raid 4 array, SATA or SCSI as you choose.
